Staycation

Recently we had a staycation. It feels a bit like cheating on the staycation rules when we live in a holiday destination, but when you live somewhere you tend to keep to the same daily patterns and not look up at all the great stuff you have around you.
So we had absolutely no traffic delays, waiting for flights, or stressful squeezing things into suitcases. We just got ourselves a bit of beach time, a little history, a little sun, and lots of ice cream - it was the best holiday I've had in years!

i had my staycation last summer in our home at Ouahu Hawaii, i agree on your "like cheating on the staycation rules when we live in a holiday destination" i just roamed around the island with my friends and not hassles of traffics and flight delays.

What a wonderful idea. We really should do the same. Our family down south thinks it's a crime that we live in sunny subtropical Brisbane, but never go to the beach!!!
Glad you had a lovely holiday :D

It's refreshing to do that once in a while. We do that...every once in a while we do the tourist thing and take a bus tour of Hollywood or buy a map to the star's homes that kind of thing. Cheesy but fun!

And how cute is that little one in her red sun hat!

He he - love the name 'staycation'. We tend to do that alot as just can't be bothered with the stress (and $) of organising a vacation for 2 adults and 4 kids! NZ is very beautiful too. Love your photos and your blog.
